Subtle Rantings

I apologize for the hiatus I’ve been on. This was not planned. Some would like to think it’s because all the comments left for me in my post about a prisoner in Colorado who died from an unintentional drug overdose. However, that is not the case. The blogs have just taken a back seat to more important things.

I’ve had many, many news stories cross my field of view that I’ve wanted to write about, but I’ve been far too busy. I have a day job, a side job and my blogs. Oh and I forgot to mention family duties as well. As a loving husband and “father” of 4 of the best dogs you could imagine, I’ve had to place priority on family time. See, that’s what loving husbands do. They take care of their family first, then worry about their own needs and comfort. Some say that good fathers and husbands are “good” because their intentions are good or because the individual knew that the husband/father had a good heart. This is not the case. Actions speak, intentions don’t.

Anyway, this post is to serve as nothing more than a brief apology and a notice that more content will be coming this week. Thanks for staying a reader even though I went MIA for almost a month.

Just upgraded to WordPress 2.1 so I’m looking forward to taking advantage of some of the new features. What features those are, I’m not exactly sure…yet. Anyway, keep an eye out here for new content. I’m at a new job that allows a little more “down” time and should allow me to update this blog more often with new content. Also, check out my Archives of the few postings I had before I take some time off.

So I’ve joined the crowd. I’m doing the trendy thing. No, I’m not talking about FaceBook or MySpace, although I ashamedly admit to having a MySpace page (in my defense, my wife created without my knowledge!)

This is my first post in my official blog entitled “subtle rantings”. I thought the name fit because my wife will vehemently tell you that I can rant and get on a soapbox per se at the drop of a hat. However, I am trying to tone down my rants a bit, thus the “subtle” part. We’ll see how well that pans out over the coming months.

I’m a big privacy rights advocate so that will most likely consume a large amount of the content that is posted here. Also thrown in will be some computer knowlege and/or news. Also there will be your standard useless information that everyone must know; kind of like a John Tesh, “Intelligence For Your Life” style. Oh and let us not forget about the off chance that I might voice some religious opinions as well.

Anyway, to my mom, wife and the other two readers out there, thanks for reading and check back when you can. Maybe there will be a new post!
