Why I Won’t Vote For Obama

July 16th, 2008 Jonathan Posted in Government, Politics No Comments »

In a previous post, a reader had asked why I stated McCain is a better choice than Obama. I mentioned in that post my disdain for McCain, but I do still firmly believe he’s as they say in the voting world, “the lesser of two evils.”

This isn’t going to be a long expose’ or fact revealing post of Obama’s empty promises or socialistic ideas, just a listing of why I can’t vote for him. Maybe later I’ll explore each point and dissect each one.

  • Obama’s support of gun bans. He was a vocal proponent of the Chicago gun ban and supported the DC gun ban as well. He thinks the 2nd Amendment is interpreted based on where you live – “What works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne,” Barack Obama said after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Washington, D.C., gun ban.” Obama is just like any other gun hating liberal who thinks the answer to gun violence is to ban them or make it even harder for law abiding citizens to own them.
  • Obama’s stance on Universal Healthcare. Obama and Clinton’s plan are nothing but socialistic redistribution of wealth. Obama touts his healthcare plan as a great compromise for people of all incomes by stating those who can afford and choose to continue using a private healthcare insurer, can do so. At their expense of course. So if you choose to have a private insurer, will you still be forced to pay for Universal Healthcare? Absolutely. Kind of like Social Security and we all see how well that’s worked out for us. Whether the Demo’s will admit it or not, when someone is forced to pay for a service for someone else, while also having to pay for their own services, that’s redistribution of wealth. That’s Socialism. Don’t believe me? Look it up.
  • Obama’s support of the FISA legislation. He flip flopped and supported the FISA bill and Telecomm Immunity when he said he wouldn’t. This piece of legislation is another one of this current administration’s use of fear tactics to gain more control over it’s people. In the name of “National Security” the FISA bill was passed and it basically continues to allow warrantless eavesdropping and eliminates many of the safeguards put in place by the 4th amendment. It also provides complete immunity to the telecomm companies that assist the government in this unconstitutional wiretapping.
  • Obama’s economic policy. I’ve never agreed with any Democrat’s economic policy as they are always about more taxes, bigger government, more handouts and more entitlements.
  • Obama’s wife. Just like I think the real danger in the Clinton family is Hillary, not Bill, I think Michelle is the same way. I think she harbors a lot of pent up anger and has a serious chip on her shoulder against white people.
  • Obama’s connection to Rev. Wright. Obama attended that church for 20+ years and those recent sermons were the VERY first time he ever heard those racist, bigoted statements from Rev. Wright? Liar. Wright served as a close friend and mentor, but Obama never knew Wright’s real feelings? If there was ANY white person, much less white pastor that said anything near as inflammatory as Wright, they would be labeled a racist cracker and no one would touch them with a 10ft pole, much less a presidential candidate. How long did it take Obama to disown Wright? That should tell you something.

People have tried to discredit McCain by pointing out his relationship with controversial pastor John Hagee and by comparing it to the Wright/Obama relationship. It’s not even close. McCain doesn’t go to Hagee’s church. Hagee isn’t McCain’s mentor or close personal friend. He’s someone that offered a public endorsement of McCain. Did you know the New Black Panther party publicly endorses Barack Obama?

  • Obama’s methods and plans on how to tackle environmental issues. Obama thinks we should force – by passing new legislation – car manufacturers and other companies to develop certain products and new technologies. This encroaches on capitalism and the free market. The government needs to stay out of business. Let the market and the people decide what they want. With all the current “green” initiatives, haven’t we already seen a shift in thinking from car manufacturers and so many of the other industries in this nation? Let the people drive change, not the government through it’s strong arm of the law.

The bottom line is that most Democrat’s are excellent visionaries and dreamers. But they are just that: dreamers. They have wonderful ideas and make these great promises. It all sounds great when it’s being delivered from the podium, but how are you going to get from point A to B? They make promises that they themselves don’t have a clue how to fulfill. They lack an execution strategy.

Do I like McCain? No. Do I like him more than Obama? Yes. Do I feel like either will do a good job? No. And before anyone writes in criticizing me for not taking a stand and voting 3rd party, I’m sorry, but I just can’t do that. I did that in the primaries and gave it a valiant effort (just look at some of my other blog posts about Ron Paul). The fact is, I think we are in serious trouble if Obama gets into office and I’m going to do whatever I can to keep that from happening. Comments welcome.

Hillary’s Nothing But a Liar

March 27th, 2008 Jonathan Posted in Politics 1 Comment »

While I really am going to hate voting for whoever I vote for this year, I can tell you one thing: I will not be voting for Hillary Clinton. There are some that will say all politician’s are liars, thieves and con artists, and I would generally agree with that statement. However, no one has lied so arrogantly to the American public and the world, like Hillary Rodham Clinton. Check out this excerpt from an article on townhall.com:

“[Hillary's]Admitted Lies

• Chelsea was jogging around the Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. (She was in bed watching it on TV.)

• Hillary was named after Sir Edmund Hillary. (She admitted she was wrong. He climbed Mt. Everest five years after her birth.)

• She was under sniper fire in Bosnia. (A girl presented her with flowers at the foot of the ramp.)

• She learned in The Wall Street Journal how to make a killing in the futures market. (It didn’t cover the market back then.) “

If you read the rest of the article, you’ll also get a nice list of lies she has yet to admit too. See folks, Hillary is arrogant. She thinks she’s better than all of us. She thinks she’s smarter than us. She thinks (just like her husband), she can lie straight to our faces and we’ll believe her.

Her arrogance is even more apparent when she realizes that even when caught in a lie, she won’t take personal responsibility for her actions. Clinton simply states that “She’s human, and it was just a misstatement.” Wow. How insulting. She must think real highly of the intelligence of the American people.

Why America Will Fail

March 7th, 2008 Jonathan Posted in Politics, Society No Comments »

ConstitutionThis letter came to me from another blog I read, The Jeffersonian. A blog that has some great content on current politics and how they relate (or don’t) to the Constitution.

This letter to the editor below is from a resident in Billings, MT. Read and discover why America Will fail.

Letter to the Editor of the Billings Gazette:

Link: http://www.billingsgazette.net/articles/2008/03/06/opinion/letters/40-ailsus.txt

What a strange lot we Americans are. For instance:

There is a war going on which about 70 percent of us oppose and want our troops brought home. So what do we do? Sit on our butts and do nothing.

We have a Congress which points fingers at those on the other side of the aisle, calls one another names, investigates baseball players of all things, and does nothing. So what do we do? Sit on our butts and do nothing.

We have the worst slate of presidential candidates imaginable. So what do we do? Sit on our butts and do nothing.

Our government is going to take $300, $600, $1,200 or whatever out of one of our pockets and put it in the other, The cost of administering this farce will be staggering no doubt. So what do we do? Sit on our butts and do nothing.

The food industry is gouging us at the grocery store and the oil industry is more than gouging us at the gas pump. So what do we do? Sit on our butts and do nothing.

What can we do? There are millions and millions of us. We can do anything to which we are willing to put our hands and our minds.

Al Bishop
Billings

The sad part is he’s right. The other sad part is most American’s WANT to do nothing. They want to be sheep. They want to live their lives and let someone else take care of their problems and responsibilities. God forbid we actually take some responsibility, it may interrupt our American Idol viewing or MySpace time.

What’s even sadder is we currently have the worst batch of presidential candidates I have ever seen, or could imagine. Both Democratic candidates will turn us into a Socialistic country just like Russia. You’ve heard the road to hell is paved with good intentions right? Then there’s McCain who will take away all civil liberties by use of fear and the “threat” of terrorism. He’ll extend the un-Patriot Act and continue warrantless surveillance programs on the citizens of America. No one will fix immigration.

Sure many will argue that we have it so much better than other countries and that at least we have some form of Democracy and so on. Yes, that may be true, however, some of us that have a little foresight and can look back at history, see exactly where we’re headed. However, there is still hope. Maybe there really can be a revival in the land. Maybe people’s hearts will change and their minds will awaken and say no more of this tyrannical control. While most people believe religion is the problem with our country, I believe religion is both the problem and the solution.

Either way you look at it, 2008 is just the beginning.

Ant and Grasshopper Parable

January 30th, 2008 Jonathan Posted in Politics No Comments »

TRADITIONAL VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible e for yourself!

MODERN VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, “It’s Not Easy Being Green.”

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house where the news stations film the group singing, “We shall overcome.” Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake.

Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share. Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer! The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients. The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around him because he doesn’t maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2008.

Liberty Stickers

October 2nd, 2007 Jonathan Posted in Government, Politics 1 Comment »

I found the coolest website the other day during one of my normal daily surfing sessions. LibertyStickers.com is a great place to pick up your favorite political bumper sticker. Now I will offer this disclaimer: Not all bumper stickers on this site are kid friendly or safe for work. This means, I obviously don’t condone or endorse all the stickers on there.

My favorite one’s can be found under The Founders section. This section (as you probably already guessed) features important, historical quotes from the Founders of this great land. If only more people truly understood what the framers of this nation intended when they created the foundation for this country. Check ‘em out and pick you up one or two today to show your support and let people know that we want a change in politics!

Ron Paul Rocks

June 6th, 2007 Jonathan Posted in Government, Politics No Comments »

Another video that I hope many of you will take the time to watch. Even if you don’t understand Economics, the Federal Reserve, why we should return to the Gold Standard, FairTax principles, what our Founding Fathers truly wanted for our country, or any of the other hot topics in this video, you can trust Ron Paul. That’s why I’m voting for him in the primaries and if given the chance, in the Presidential Election.
