The probably I have/had with Charter is not usually getting service, it's keeping it. Charter is great about getting you signed up and activated for service. It's their after-sales support that is horrible. Heaven help you if you ever have any technical problems. The problem will always be the wiring in your house, or your TV, or the computer configuration. Never a problem with Charter's infrastructure.

I hope that once you eventually got service from Verizon, it would actually work and stay functional. I've told Charter before that I don't care how long it takes, just fix whatever problem I'm having, but just make sure it gets fixed. Ha, yeah, right.

Either way, competition is a necessity and having a phone company and cable company compete for ISP or TV service is not competition. Charter vs. Comcast in the same area would be competition. Anyway, good luck with your cable/ISP endeavors GT. May you have more luck than some of us. :)

Could they be any worse than Verizon? We've got Comcast highspeed here - would have Verizon...

That is, if I were willing to wait for a month and a half to have them come out, add a phone line, remove the phone line, and authorize my home to be available for highspeed internet (disregarding the fact that when I check either of my neighbors homes online, both are eligible for it).
