Subtle Rantings

So it appears the latest offensive tool of the “Infidels,” is the children’s nursery book “The Three Little Pigs“.

Evidently, just across the big pond, it has been determined that the story of the three swine could be offensive to Muslims. This has been determined not by Muslims or some other religious organization but by a panel of judges reviewing the reading curriculum for a school system in London. Muslims had not previously raised issue with the book. However, I’m sure there are no tears shed by them for the removal of such filth.

One of the problems with this entire story is the fact that Muslims continue to receive special treatment. When was the last time a reading curriculum was reviewed and a book was rejected due to the possibility that it might offend Christians? Why is it only certain interest groups receive preferential treatment? For example, the benefits and accommodations offered to the Hispanic and Latino community in America rivals the preferential treatment that Muslims receive.

If we are forced to live in an overly sensitive, politically correct world, then all I ask for is equality. Apply your concern for offending people to all groups – large or small. This will never occur though. It would be impossible. You can’t please everyone. Life isn’t fair. And not everyone gets to be a winner everyday or have everything their way. That’s just life. These demolibs, as I like to call them, need to open their eyes and realize there will always be disappointments in life. There will always be offended people. There will always be problems. You can’t fix everything. That’s a utopian world that doesn’t exist. Well, it does actually. It’s called Heaven.
