and they wonder why illegal immigration is out of control

Hazleton, PA passed two ordinances in their City Council back in August to help combat illegal immigration. The first ordinance was a $1,000 per day fine on any landlord who rented space to an illegal immigrant. The second was a 5 year revocation of the business license for any company that employed illegal immigrants. Sounds pretty fair right? I mean, they are called ILLEGAL immigrants for a reason.

Well now a federal judge, U.S. District Judge James Munley, has put a temporary restraining order on the city’s ordinances because businesses that cater to Hispanic business will suffer “irreparable harm” from these new laws. Wait, did I read that right? Here’s what Munley is really saying: All the businesses that cater to ILLEGAL immigrants will suffer financially if we impose any laws that might actually reduce the number of illegal immigrants in the area. Hrm. Isn’t that our goal? If you won’t let us sit on every inch of the border and pop illegals as they come across, then at least let us outlaw them from our towns. They are called ILLEGAL immigrants for a reason. They don’t pay taxes, they don’t have insurance and more importantly they leech off of the honest taxpayers (legal immigrants and American citizens).

Of course, the ACLU (All Criminals Love Us) is the ringleader of this entire debacle as they are the co-plaintiff’s in a suit against the city of Hazleton. Their grounds for suit? The city of Hazleton has no jurisdiction or right to regulate immigration. They say that immigration can ONLY be controlled by the federal government. Yeah, because the feds do things efficiently and quickly. Well, if the Feds aren’t going to do anything about it, then it’s up to the States and municipalities I say. I see some real validity now to the Civil War (actually the War between the States and I’ve always seen many points of validity to that war). That war was fought for State’s rights. The belief that states should be able to regulate the policy and procedure of it’s counties and towns. This is why we have an immigration problem in the first place and this is why it will NEVER be solved as long as the federal government has the control. The feds won’t let anything be done at the state level. Why? Too much money is involved here. Between ACLU and all the other special interest groups, there’s too many votes and too much PAC money at stake.

So why do I believe the State’s should have the right to regulate immigration? Because Mayer Lou Barletta has seen first hand the impact of illegal immigration on his little city. A 10% increase in crime over just a one year period. Who has to deal with this crime? Some federal pencil pusher or politician? No, the taxpayers and citizens of Hazleton. The men, women and children that pay the city taxes and property taxes to live in that town. This is why a Hazleton resolution should be applied and not some general federal ideaology that is completely ineffective, inefficient and asinine.

I will finish by saying I don’t have a problem with immigrants of any race. As long as they are legal. It is completely wrong for ANY human to be in this country and not have to pay taxes or be subject to the same pillaging that the government takes from all of us, while still receiving all the benefits. I believe America should be a country of open arms, however, there are conditions. Become a legal citizen, have a job, and SPEAK ENGLISH. There is a right way to immigrate to America and until the federal government begins to see that and change their immigration policy, nothing will change. So Annie, get your gun, the illegal immigrants are a comin’!
